Russian Renaissance

Through stunning performances of everything from tango to folk to jazz, Russian Renaissance is redefining the possibilities of their traditional Russian folk instruments (balalaika, domra/domra alto, button accordion, and balalaika contrabasso) and capturing the attention of audiences worldwide.

With vibrant a cappella harmonies set to Brazilian rhythms and a joyous stage show, Ordinarius has breathed new life into Brazil’s most beloved songs, from traditional choros to the music of Carmen Miranda.

Kodo: One Earth Tour

February 26, 2019 – 7 pm

Exploring the limitless possibilities of the traditional Japanese drum, Kodo is forging new directions: traditional rituals recast as theater. Since the group’s debut at the Berlin Festival in 1981, these percussionist kamikazes really raised the roof on all five continents.

Collage Dance Collective

Collage Dance Collective works to inspire the growth of ballet by showcasing a repertoire of relevant choreography and world-class dancers representative of our community.

October 6, 2018 – 7:30 pm

Elegant, yet fiery guest violinist Chloe Trevor performs Vivaldi’s widely recognized and beloved The Four Seasons fused with the Argentine tango twist of Four Seasons of Buenos Aires. Also on the program is Rachmaninoff’s superb – and sometimes stormy – second symphony.

Reflections on the Mississippi

November 3, 2018 – 7:30 pm

MSO principal tuba Mark Cox takes center stage to perform one of only a few compositions written for solo tuba and orchestra. Bookending the soloist are two of Brahms’ enduring works: the dark and moody Tragic Overture and his lush and beautiful second symphony.

The Nutcracker

Leap into the holiday season when Midland Symphony Orchestra and the Grand Rapids Ballet Company present The Nutcracker. From the creative minds behind The Polar Express, Jumanji, Wicked and Sweeney Todd comes a fresh – yet familiar – take on a holiday classic!

Rhapsody in Blue with Kevin Cole

The pride of Bay City and master Gershwin interpreter, Kevin Cole joins the MSO for two rhapsodies for piano. Also on the program, the fifth symphony by one of classical music’s most enigmatic composers.

Carmina Burana

April 13, 2019 – 7:30 pm

The Symphony and vocalists from across the region perform Carl Orff’s monumental Carmina Burana. Even if you don’t recognize the name, the haunting melodies of this popular and significant work are known by all.

The Addams Family

The Addams kids are growing up and beloved daughter Wednesday has fallen in love with a regular guy from a respectable family. When she invites her beau and his parents for dinner, the Addams family hilariously faces the spooky nightmare they have avoided for hundreds of years: normalcy.

A Christmas Carol

This original adaptation of the holiday classic breathes fresh life into Dickens’ cherished characters – Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim and Bob Cratchit – introducing a new generation to the timeless tale of Scrooge’s transformation from a stingy miser to a man of heart and generosity!

Juicy, wicked, and full of guilty fun. Dive into the lives of New York society women struggling to play their expected roles in a world where husbands hold all the power. It’s a heartfelt depiction of romantic rivalry, toxic friendships, and the thousands of supporting roles women play in their own lives.

Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

One of the most enduring shows of all time reimagines the Biblical story of Joseph, his father Jacob, eleven brothers and the coat of many colors. Told entirely through song, the musical follows favorite son Joseph as he is sold into slavery by his brothers, thrown into prison, elevated to Pharaoh’s right-hand man and eventually reunited with his family.

One of the leading cellists in the industry, Patrick performs an evening of solo repertoire and chamber music joined by local musicians.

Kindra Scharich & George Fee (Midland)

The mezzo soprano collaborates with pianist George Fee in an evening of songs of Shubert, Schumann Brahms and others.

Evan Mills (Midland)

April 6, 2019 – 7:30 pm

Delve into comedy as Midland native Evan Mills returns with his sketch duo partner, Brittany Flynn, to perform tunes and parodies in an evening of lighthearted fun.

Eliza Hamilton’s Song

November 10, 2018 – 7:30 pm

The Chorale is joined by Lexi Lawson, currently playing Eliza in Broadway’s Hamilton, to sing us through the revolution using multi-media to tell the story of the life and times of our founders, including the founding of Graham Windham, the nation’s oldest non-profit, non-sectarian child welfare agency. A portion of the proceeds benefit the agency.

Jingle: A Holiday Extravaganza

December 15, 2018 – 7:30 pm

The combined Choirs sing your favorite tunes of the season! This fast-paced, high-energy concert, featuring over 200 voices raised in song, is the perfect way to get in the spirit and enjoy the most wonderful time of year.

The King’s Singers

February 17, 2019 – 6:30 pm

One of the premiere choirs in the world, The King’s Singers will be joined by our own Camerata Singers to perform repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to the Beatles, as well as exciting new commissions.

Whose LIVE Anyway?

Straight No Chaser

November 30, 2018 – 7:30 pm

If the phrase “male a cappella group” conjures up an image of students in blue  blazers, ties, and khakis singing traditional college songs on ivied campuses… think again. Straight No Chaser (SNC) are neither strait-laced nor straight-faced, but neither are they vaudeville-style kitsch. They have emerged as a phenomenon with a massive fanbase, numerous national TV appearances and proven success with CD releases.

Straight No Chaser is the real deal, the captivating sound of nine unadulterated human voices coming together to  make extraordinary music that is moving people in a fundamental sense… and with a sense of humor. On the road, Straight No Chaser has built a reputation as an unforgettable live act.

Rock of Ages

Broadway’s Best Party is turning up the volume to 10! Nominated for five Tony® Awards, including Best Musical, Rock of Ages captures the iconic era that was the big bad 1980s Hollywood. Know What Love Is, Feel the Noise, and Take Your Best Shot at one of the Sunset Strip’s last epic venues, a place where the legendary Stacee Jaxx returns to the stage and rock-n-roll dreamers line up to turn their fantasies into reality.

Featuring the music of hit bands such as Styx, Poisson, Twisted Sister, and Whitesnake among many others, this Tenth Anniversary production features a dynamic new cast revisiting the larger-than-life characters and exhilarating story that turned Rock of Ages into a global phenomenon.

All sales are final.
Subscribers may exchange tickets for free up to 24 hours prior to the event. The value of the exchanged ticket(s) will be applied to another Center 2018 – 19 event. We cannot hold a credit on your account.

The Center offers a diverse selection of programs.
Not all productions may appeal to or be appropriate for every person or for all ages. Therefore, patrons are responsible for making informed decisions regarding their ticket purchases. Contact the Ticket Office if you have questions regarding age appropriateness or content.

Everyone must have their own ticket.
Children are always welcome; however, regardless of age and even if you expect a child to sit in an adult’s lap, everyone must have a ticket to enter the venue.

A processing fee is applied to every order. 
The Center applies a processing fee to most performance tickets. There is a one-time fee of $10 for renewing subscribers ($15 for new subscriptions or those renewing after May 18) that is specifically used to maintain and upgrade our facilities.

We have wheelchair accessible and no-step seating available.
Please make sure needs are known when reserving your seats. Please note that our theatres do NOT have elevators.
