On March 28 join us as we welcome Monique Ella Rose, a dynamic contralto voice with the ability to take you on a ride that leaves you feeling downright good. Her soulful approach puts you in touch with some of her inspirations like Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Jill Scott, Betty Carter, and more. She is expressive, captivating, and fluid in her vocal movements, taking you from jazz to pop. The stage is where she bares her soul with her impromptu approach to connect with the audience.

She has won Review Magazine’s Best Jazz Vocalist now 3 years in a row. Headlining events such as the Michael Moore Traverse City Film Festival, Jazz on Jefferson, Party on McCarty Festival, Detroit Jazz Café at Music Hall and more. Monique is quickly earning a reputation as one of Michigan’s most exciting talents!

“Music is an outlet that allows me to express myself in full form. I want my music to inspire, awaken, and encourage listeners, ” she says. Her impeccable raw talent has earned her a spot on stage opening for artists like Anthony Hamilton, Chrisette Michelle, Marsha Ambrosius, Dwele’, Maxwell, and others. One of her proudest moments was opening for the late Dr. Maya Angelou.
