JAN 10 – 19, 2020

Paris, 1904: The Lapin Agile, beloved watering hole to struggling artists and would-be geniuses, welcomes two soon-to-be legends for one extraordinary night. Pablo Picasso and Albert Einstein, whose egos are as big as their intellects, spar with the regulars and each other about art, science, inspirations, love, and the promise of the 20th century. Throw into this mix a mysterious visitor with a penchant for blue suede shoes, and you’re in for a brilliant witty evening at the theater.

2020 Cornerstone Series

FEB 15 – 23, 2020

The Weston family comes together after their patriarch, would-class poet and alcoholic Beverly Weston, disappears. The matriarch, Violet, depressed and addicted to pain pills, is joined by her three daughters, their problematic lovers, her sister Mattie Fae and her family, all well-trained in the Weston family art of cruelty. Holed up in the large family estate in Osage County, Oklahoma, tensions heat up and boil over in the ruthless August heat. Bursting with humor, vivacity, and intelligence, August: Osage County is at turns funny, vicious, compassionate, and an unstoppable force of nature.

Center Stage Theatre’s “Cornerstone Series” is made possible through a generous gift from local theater enthusiasts by Neil & Annmarie Hawkins and a matching grant from the  Midland Area Community Foundation

CAROUSEL in Concert

MAR 7 – 8, 2020

Broadway conductor Richard Carsey leads the Midland Symphony Orchestra, the Choirs of the Center and member from Center Stage Theatre in this performance of the popular Rodgers and Hammerstein score that includes “If I Loved You,” “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” and “June is Bustin’ Out All Over.”

MAY 8 – 17, 2020

Monty Navarro, a distant heir to a family fortune, sets out to jump the line of succession by – you guessed it – eliminating the eight pesky relatives (all played by one fearless man) who stand in his way. All the while, Monty has to juggle his mistress (she’s after more than just love), his fiancèe (she’s his cousin but who’s keeping track?), and the constant threat of landing behind bars! Of course, it will all be worth it if he can slay his way to his inheritance… and be done in time for tea.
