Art in the Garden (Adult)

Plein Air: Art in the Garden

In this nine-week course you will work in the Dow Gardens and some new locations experiencing the beauty of nature while transferring your feelings and observations to canvas or paper. Students choose their own medium as they study light and its relationship to form, atmosphere, color and mood. Individual attention and instruction provided. Students are encouraged to bring a camera to take photographs to use as a reference in case of rain. The galleries will be used on rainy days and for critiques. Admission to Dow Gardens is included in the class price.

Intermediate Drawing (Adult)

Don’t leave your pencil idle this summer – sign up for this intermediate drawing class with Armin Mersmann! We will meet every other week and create work in class unless you desire to continue work at home. Drawings done at home are encouraged to enhance class discussion, but not required. We will work from life only: still-life’s, nature, and possibly portrait.
