MCFTA General Needs

Ushering Team
Date: Ongoing
MCFTA Volunteer Ushers dedicate themselves to providing outstanding customer service, safety, and security for guests attending MCFTA’s many events. Volunteer Ushers are the face of the Center, and will engage with guests directly, helping to create a memorable and positive experience at all MCFTA events.
Training is provided and required annually.
Ushers do get to view the performance(s) you work!
There may be a 6-12 month waiting list for volunteer usher opportunities (depending on application date).
Ushers must be 16 years of age or older.

“Intermission” the Museum Store
Date: Ongoing; must commit to at least two shifts per month
Location: MCFTA
Individuals with strong customer service interests will love this job. Computer skills and attention to details are a must. Prior retail experience is not required.

General Symphony Assistance

Help keep our Symphony sound! The Midland Symphony Orchestra needs volunteers to help throughout the season. Opportunities include selling raffle tickets, organizing guest artist luncheons, and lending a hand at MSO fundraisers!

Bradley Home Housekeeping
Date: Ongoing; flexible
Location: Bradley Home Museum, Heritage Park
The beautiful 1874 Bradley Home Museum needs housekeepers to come in on a monthly basis to sweep, dust, vacuum, and polish silver. Help keep this Victorian gem spiffy for hundreds of visiting school children and other visitors throughout the year!

Collections and Archives
Date: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays • 1 pm – 4 pm
Location: MCHS Doan History Center
Catalog donated historical artifacts, vintage photos, and other items into our historical and archival collections database. Includes some research opportunities.

Help maintain the gardens of Heritage Park for all our visitors to enjoy.

We are looking for individuals who enjoy sorting, organizing and labeling photos of MCHS happenings. We are also looking for photographers to capture the current continuing changes in Midland County.

Education Program Presenters

Location: Traveling
Do you have a love for science or history that you’d enjoy sharing with local students? Our Education Department has programs that travel to schools and we’re looking for volunteers with advanced communication skills, and the ability to effectively present information to students grades K – 9. Specific program training provided. Teaching and/or group management experience is helpful. You must pass a criminal background check and have reliable transportation.
