Designing Dinnerware
Thursday, January 24, 2013, 6pm
AB Dow Classes
Dinner ware is probably the first thing many of us associate as objects made of clay. Though today most of
our dinner ware is commercially massed produced in factories, its roots are with the potter and the potter’s
wheel. In this course, students will design and make a place setting that is uniquely their design. Students
will also be shown techniques to help them duplicate to more than one setting depending on their skill level.
This class requires previous experience in clay.
The studio will be available for working independently outside of class time. Material fee: Clay can be
purchased from the instructor for $ 35, porcelain $ 45. Work will be fired in the new reduction Bailey gas kiln.
