How to Take Better Photos

The goals of this class are to give the student the tools to take better photos as well as understanding why and how. Technical topics include: camera menus, camera controls, lenses, F-stops, shutter speed, depth of field, camera angle, contrast, lighting, and pre-exposure planning. Various photographic situations will be discussed and practiced - portraits, still life, landscapes, and action are among the areas considered. Composition will be an important part of the how and why throughout the class. There will be weekly class assignments and critique. Please bring your camera and its manual to the first class along with ten printed photos you have taken.
