Chris Brubeck: Travels in Time for Three
“The most creative, energetic, exciting and engaging trio since Yo-Yo Ma, Mark O'Connor and Edgar Meyer.” ~ Michael F. Wolf, Cerritos Center
The groundbreaking trio Time for Three transcends traditional classification, with elements of classical, country western, gypsy and jazz idioms forming a blend all its own. A perfect pairing for the jazz, gospel and funk-inspired compositions of Chris Brubeck, the trio joins the MSO to perform Brubeck’s concerto, Travels in Time for Three. From jazz to baroque and back again, this piece gives the effect that the trio is time traveling through musical styles. Brubeck promises that with the name of the concerto, from the Irish fiddling in the second movement to the Deep Bayou Funk Groove in the last, it is a guaranteed fun and exciting performance!
