Artwork produced by Midland Center for the Arts Studio School students and faculty is on display in the Alden B. Dow Museum of Science and Art galleries Nov. 18 – Jan. 3.
During its opening reception, awards were presented to participating artists. First place: Gail LeDuc (Knee Deep, acrylic); second place: Marcia Schneider (Holding onto Beauty, lost wax casting); third place: Luther Hale (Meteor Burst). Honorable mentions went to Margaret Colarelli (Farmstead); Jean Perkins, (Nugget); Donald Rulf (Weadock) and Debra Laroque (Marsh #1). Studio School Manager Sarah Brands juried the show, choosing from a wide variety of artistic styles and mediums, from painting and drawing to ceramics, jewelry, and photography.
Museum hours are Wednesday – Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Thursdays until 8 p.m.; Sunday 1 to 5 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults; $7 for ages 4 – 14; FREE to museum members, ASTC members, and ages 3 and under.
