Escape the most painfully festive time of year with a laugh-‘til-you-cry performance of merrily subversive entertainment when Center Stage Theatre of Midland Center for the Arts presents “The SantaLand Diaries.”
Based on the true chronicles of NPR humorist David Sedaris, this cult classic riffs on a few of Sedaris’ truly odd encounters while juggling tots and tottering Santas as “Crumpet the Elf” in Macy’s SantaLand. Adult language and content. Written by David Sedaris; adapted for the stage by Joe Mantello. Directed by Stephen Fort. Center Stage Theatre season sponsor is Dr. John Carter, DDS.
Starring Kyle Sanborn as “Crumpet,” this one-man, one-act play is performed cabaret-style on the stage of the Little Theatre. Performances are Dec. 14, 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 16 and 17 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $20 (plus processing fees) and are available at www.midlandcenter.org, at the Center Ticket Office or by calling 800-523-7649. Cash bar and light snacks will be available.
