MATRIX:MIDLAND Cinema presents Steve Coogan’s and Rob Brydon’s latest deliciously deadpan culinary road trip in “The Trip to Spain” on Jan. 19 and 20 at 7 p.m. and Jan. 21 at 3 p.m. in the Lecture Room of Midland Center for the Arts. Enjoy a glass of wine, great company and the best of modern filmmaking.
This time around, the guys head to Spain to sample the best of the country’s gastronomic offerings in between rounds of their hilariously off-the-cuff banter. Over plates of pintxos and paella, the pair exchange barbs and their patented celebrity impressions, as well as more serious reflections on what it means to settle into middle age. As always, the locales are breathtaking, the cuisine to die for, and the humor delightfully devilish. Released 2017; United Kingdom, Spain; in English; 108 minutes; not rated.
Tickets are $7. Purchase at midlandcenter.org or through the Ticket Office at 800-723-7649. Tickets also available at the door as space allows. Films screened in the Lecture Room of the Center.
