The Jo Harrigan Award is presented to a Center Stage Theatre and Choirs (CSTC) volunteer who has exhibited long-term dedication and participation in many aspects and areas to further the mission and vision of the Center Stage Theatre and Choirs at Midland Center for the Arts. Established in 2003, the award honors and pays tribute to Jo Harrigan, a long-time Midland resident and community volunteer who dedicated many years of valuable service to Center Stage Theatre and Choirs programs. As both performer and mentor, Jo Harrigan’s contributions of time and talent continue to exemplify how volunteerism and arts participation can significantly enhance the cultural vitality of our community. Nominations will be accepted for current or past volunteers of Center Stage Theatre and Choir groups, including Theatre Guild, Music Society, Camerata, Good Company, Men of Music, Music Society Chorale, Music Theatre Program and Youth Honors Choral Program. Each Nomination is evaluated based on the individual's contribution to the Center Stage groups.  In addition to commitment and length of service, other important criteria include vision, initiative and leadership. Nominators are asked to cite specific examples of the nominee’s participation and impact on the Center Stage groups.

Previous winners include:  Luman Bliss, Jim Brooks, Betty Eynon, Jack Redmon, David Smith, Joe Mattler, John McPeak, Jenny Anderson, Kay Collison, Alan Getzin, Bob Burditt, Susie Polito, Pennye Padgett, David Ritter, Cheryl & Larry Levy, Carol Rumba, Stephanie Spence, Dick Jellum, Tracey Kempsell, Tom Randolph, and Alex Rapanos.

The information below will be used by the Volunteer Relations and Special Awards committees in the selection process. All information is kept confidential.
