Chef “Cool”

$100 for 2 programs & $35 for additional program plus travel (see chart below)

Students will investigate the physical properties of chemicals in solid, liquid and gaseous states, including strange effects extreme cold (liquid nitrogen and dry ice)  has on everyday objects.

Grades: 3rd – 6th

This program is possible with support from Airgas-Great Lakes Region and Dendritech®, Inc.

“Stuffee”

$75 for 3 programs plus travel (see chart below)

Standing 5 feet tall, and with fabric internal organs, “Stuffee” makes learning about the human body fun! Students learn about what’s inside our bodies, the roles our organs play and how to take care of our bodies with good nutrition.

Grades: K – 5th

Picture Parent Resource Library

The Picture Parent program is a long-standing success story of educating kids about art. MCFTA loans resources to educators or school volunteer coordinators to use throughout the school year. Materials introduce art history and appreciation to classrooms, home school groups, and senior service groups.

Choir for “Hire”

Interested in bringing one of our singing groups to your event or organization? Contact our Choir Director for more information, group availability and fee (if applicable).

Midland Center for the Arts is proud to host 7 choral groups which work passionately to bring vocal music to the community. Our adult groups include: Chorale, Camerata, Men of Music and Bella Voce Singers (high school women). The student groups include: Prelude, Lyrica and Bel Canto.

Midland Symphony Orchestra

Masterclasses & Residencies

Midland Symphony Orchestra guest artists bring superior professional coaching to local students and teachers, including lectures and performances throughout the community. Artists often go into the schools with clinics or give one-on-one instruction to young musicians and college music majors.

Fourth Grade Concert

The Fourth Grade Celebration Concert is an annual tradition of the Midland Public Schools, sponsored by the Midland Symphony Orchestra in the Midland Center Auditorium. Fourth-grade students from across the region gather for an enjoyable introduction to the study of instrumental and vocal music during a concert presented by high school orchestra and choir students.

Civil War Outreach Program

$50 for 1 classroom, $35 for each additional class plus travel (see chart below)

Need a program close to home? Let us transport you and your students back in time through hands-on materials and resources that will leave them inspired and possessing the knowledge to write a creative account of what life was like during this historic era!

Designed for 4th grade students, but can be customized for other students.

Historical Presentations by History Director

MCHS Director Gary Skory brings our area’s rich history to classrooms and civic groups in the Great Lakes Bay Region. His informative and entertaining talks bring to life historical events and topics of regional interest.

Music on the Go

This hands-on program is sure to get your kids excited about music! Music on the Go includes activities with various percussion instruments, singing games, and movement in a 35 minute session.

Appropriate for:  Preschools, Daycares, and Libraries.
