Jr History Girls C (6-8)

What does it mean to be a girl when the world around you is changing dramatically every day? Maryellen (1954), Melody (1964), Julie and Ivy (1974), Marisol (2005), and Saige (2013) take it all in stride. Explore their lives and times as you make and play with the toys they used, play the games they played, prepare to eat the foods popular during their time, and learn about important moments in recent American history along the way. Ancient Explorers (8-11)

Stage Struck Act 1 (6-7)

On Monday you will get your very own role in the classic folktale, “Mother Goose and her Pig!” Each class is designed to make your character come to life through learning how to use your voice, how to move on stage, and how costumes and makeup help you perform on the Little Theater stage for family and friends on Friday, June 23 at 11 am. This class is designed for those who are just beginning to read. For ages 6 – 7.

Preschool Art (3.5-5)

This class is for the youngest artists. Children will experience drawing, painting, clay, collage and much more. They will work with large brushes, crayons, markers, glue and paper. This class includes a teacher’s assistant. Students must have independent bathroom skills.

Art in the Garden (8-11)

Get outside and enjoy the fresh air! This outdoor class will introduce students to the joy of painting and drawing in and from nature. Dow Gardens will provide the inspiration and subject matter for projects that pertain to line, color, light, shadow and form.

Singer Songwriter (6-10)

What goes in to writing your own hit song? Join us for a week of music writing fun while we explore today’s popular tunes and learn the tools needed to write music and lyrics to your own song! Campers will learn basic music writing and piano skills through our exclusive Harmony Road Curriculum. Campers must have independent writing skills. For ages 6-10.

The Two-Page Tale (8-14)

Learn the basics of writing short stories! Spend a week brainstorming ideas, creating believable characters, writing realistic dialogue, and making a story that builds to a bang! Bring your ideas, an open mind, and something to write with. Be ready to create a story you can be proud of!

Stage Struck Act 2 (7-9)

Young actors will spend the week rehearsing their parts for a fun, fractured mystery called, “The Bremen Town Musicians.” Actors will learn about blocking, projecting, character development and present their play on the stage of the Little Theater on Friday, June 23 at 3:00 pm. No previous acting experience necessary. This class is designed for more confident readers; for ages 7 – 9.

Here’s a hands-on introduction to the basics of cartooning. You’ll learn simple and fun techniques of cartooning, explore aspects of your favorite characters and make unique personalities and wonderful worlds of your own in this fun class! Explore expressionistic characteristics using fine line, shapes and a variety of other techniques to draw fun cartoon characters of your own!
