Experience Native American life with Kaya, the War of 1812 on Lake Ontario with Caroline, Hispanic culture of early New Mexico with Josefina, explore friendship and hardship with Cecile and Marie Grace in New Orleans in 1853, and challenges of a Jewish immigrant life with Rebecca in New York City in the early 1900s.
