Family Discovery DayAbout ABDM
Family-oriented programs designed to spread excitement about science and art through entertaining presentations and hands-on discovery. We present a minimum of five offerings each year, many connecting to specific gallery exhibits or current events. Admission varies by program. Generously sponsored by Arbury Insurance Agency.

• SILLY SPACE PUPPET WORKSHOP
Create your very own space-inspired puppet with MCFTA costume designer Laurelei Horton. You'll also get a quick look at our exhibition, Out of This World: Extraordinary Costumes from Film and Television. There will even be a surprise or two! For Ages 7 & up. ...Space. Sky. Sci-fi.

• SUPER SCIENCE DAY 3 Join our friends from the SVSU Math and Science Center for a good time as you participate in up to 20 hands-on science experiment/demo stations. All ages welcome. Open house format. All activities end at 4 pm.
Tickets: $3 AND join us for our FREE SUMMER CAMP KICK-OFF event happening in the Brick Lobby this day! Don't miss it!

An all-day event exploring the LaFarge Quarry in Alpena, Michigan, with the resident expert on fossils. Make it a family trip and bring a bucket to take home any fossils you find! Register early – space is limited!
Tickets: $20 Adults | $18 Children | Family 4-Pack (2 Adults + 2 Children) $70
Family Discovery Day participants may show their ticket and get $1 off Museum admission the day of the program.

Tunes for Tots
Join musicians from the Midland Symphony Orchestra for a fun, interactive introduction to musical instruments for children ages four and younger. Held in the Auditorium lobby – come as you are, strollers and all! FREE admission, cookies & juice! Presented by Midland Symphony Orchestra.

Fireside Chats
Gather round the hearth to feel the warmth of memories shared. Join a group of local residents in the Whitman Room of the Herbert D. Doan Midland County History Center as they share memories of yesteryear. Audiences are invited to listen, learn and join in with questions or memories of their own. This wonderful series also serves to preserve our past by recording sessions for the oral history collection. Presented by Midland County Historical Society.
