AUDITIONS IN DATE ORDER
CENTER STAGE CHOIRS - CENTER STAGE YOUTH CHOIRS
NEW MEMBER AUDITIONS for students entering 3rd through 8th grade.
Auditions are by appointment only; call Linda Hohner-Foster at 989- 837-2145. Audition packets available at the Front Desk starting April 30, 2013.

The Center Stage Youth Choirs feature students in 3rd through 8th grades. The program is a school year-long commitment beginning in September, with rehearsals once a week and multiple performance opportunities throughout the year.

Singers should have in-tune, unchanged singing voices, must be dependable for making all rehearsals and performances, and must be able to stay on-task for the duration of a rehearsal.

CENTER STAGE THEATRE
- ALICE IN THE GARDEN OF WONDERS
Performance Dates: Aug – 3, 2013
Casting: Large mixed cast of 13- to 21-year-olds

Based on Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland,” it’s the story of Alice’s adventures down the rabbit hole in this classic play, adapted for the unique setting of Dow Gardens. Directed by Carol Rumba.

You may attend either audition date; please be on time & plan to stay for the entire 3-hour audition.

Audition packets available 3 weeks prior to auditions.

- DRACULA, The Musical
Performance Dates: Sept 27 –Oct, 2013
Casting: 10 men, 8 women, plus various ensemble roles

He’s coming for you... Get your blood pumping with a dark and passionately haunting musical of Gothic romance and dreamlike temptation. Follow along as the famed vampire lusts for new blood in a world filled with intimacy and intrigue. Based on the novel by Bram Stoker. Book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton. Music by Frank Wildhorn. Directed by Keeley Stanley-Bohn. You may attend either audition date; please be on time & plan to stay for the entire 3-hour audition.

Audition packets will be available at the MCFTA Front Desk three weeks prior to auditions.

CENTER STAGE CHOIRS - CHORALE
Performances:  Nov 10, 2013; Dec 14 & 15, 2013
Feb 9, 2014; April 12, 2014

Chorale is a mixed-voice choir that performs a wide repertoire of music. Members are expected to read music and have a background in choral music. Rehearsals are Monday evenings from 7 – 9:30 pm, September through April. Auditions consist of vocalizing, sight-reading and aural comprehension. Preparing a song is optional. Appropriate for ages high school and up. Directed by James Hohmeyer.

The Midland Symphony Orchestra holds auditions in the fall on a yearly basis at Midland Center for the Arts auditorium.

AUDITION TIPS:
• Relax and breathe
• Be familiar with the production for which you are auditioning
• Imagine the role you see yourself in and concentrate on that
• Practice reading from the script with expression projection
• Wear clothes that look nice but give you freedom to move
• Attend any audition workshops offered before the audition
• Be on time and plan to stay for the entire audition
• And above all, have fun!
