   THEATRE GUILD    2007 - 2008 SEASON
IncorruptibleINCORRUPTIBLE

May 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 2008 - 8:00 p.m.
May 4, 2008 - 3:00 p.m.

A unique comedy from the playwright who developed Red Herring and who has become a refreshing new voice in American theatre.

It is the year 1250 A.D. in the shabby town of Priseaux, France, and the patron saint of the local monastery hasn't appeared, let alone produced any miracles, in over 13 years. The hilarity begins when a one-eyed wandering minstrel shows the monks an outrageous way to pay old debts and garner the attention of the Pope.

A delightfully irreverent, lightning-paced farce about monks, minstrels, money, miracles and fake holy relics in 1250 A.D. France. Written by Michael Hollinger. Directed by Jan Huff.

Admission: $19 Adults, $17 Student
Thursday and Sunday Performances: $15 Adults, $13 Student

Midland Director Denyse Clayton promises a fresh treatment of the newly revised script by Stephen Schwartz that celebrates hope arising from the modern realities of urban poverty, displaying the relevance and timelessness of Christ's teachings. Songs include Turn Back O Man, Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord and Day by Day. The joyful, touching script will capture the hearts of young and old.

THE HEIRESS

March 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 2008
8:00 p.m.
March 9, 2008 - 3:00 p.m.

Set in the visual elegance of the 1850s, The Heiress is an hypnotic tale, richly nuanced and laced with gentle wit. Steeped in the period-appropriate repression of the times, plain-faced Catherine is particularly vulnerable to her father's overbearing resentment and Morris's amorous attention. The audience is taken through a subtle psychological ride of discovery as to Morris's true intentions, observing in dark fascination as Catherine gains the upper hand, but at great personal expense.

An elegant, hypnotic tale of Victorian-era repression and a woman's psychological journey as she rises above being victimized by manipulation and deceit. Written by Ruth and Augustus Goetz. Directed by Debbie Lake.
