Tunes For Tots

Join musicians from the Midland Symphony Orchestra in a fun introduction to musical instruments and music for children ages four and younger.

These programs are just a sample of MSO educational events created to bring good music to community members of all ages. Tunes for Tots provides music education activities for pre-school age children and supports interaction between children in the same age group.

Daycare groups, moms or dads with children, babysitters or nannies and babes in arms are all welcome to this informal program where cookies and juice will be served for playtime afterwards. Come as you are, strollers and all!

Halloween Treats and Beats
Wed. October 21, 2009 - 10 a.m.
Get spooked as percussionist Andrew Spencer plays the sounds of Halloween with the fun of percussion. No tricks, just treats! Costumes encouraged!

Grand Daddy Bass
Wed. November 18, 2009 - 10 a.m.
Find out just how low an instrument can go! Taller than two tots put together, MSO bassists Dave Angelotti, Jason Nichol, and Roland Wallace introduce the grandfather of the strings.

Salute to the Flute
Wed. January 27, 2010 - 1 p.m.
Reach for the highest of the high notes with Wendy Hohmeyer and the sparkling sounds of her flute.

Saxophone Sillies
Wed. February 17, 2010 - 10 a.m.
Jump and jive as CMU faculty member John Nichol introduces the jazzy sounds of the saxophone.
