 |
 |
 |
 |
Music Society is an association of performing groups
that provide
entertainment that is exciting, fun and leaves you with goose
bumps!
Community participation has been the lifeblood of Music Society
for over 55 years, producing an exciting variety of programs including
Broadway musicals, popular choral works, classic jazz and dance.
Music Society also presents guest artists and dance companies,
providing their volunteers the opportunity to work with professionals
in the music world.

Adult
ensembles include: Men of Music, Good Company, Midland Camerata Singers and
Chorale, performing throughout the community.
All men who "just love to sing" are encouraged to
join Men of Music by attending the summer party, or by contacting
Music Society any time of year (auditions are not required
for Men of Music). Good Company is a jazz ensemble that has been performing
professionally for several years. Midland Camerata Singers (a mens and
womens ensemble of about 30 voices) and Chorale (a mens
and womens choir of about 100 voices) usually hold auditions
twice a year, and there are occasionally additional auditions
held for specific concerts. Through these and other programs,
Music Society provides endless opportunities for singers,
dancers, actors and stagehands.

AWARDS
Annually, Music Society recognizes performance and volunteer excellence through multiple awards. Music Theatre awards are nominated and voted on by a select group of qualified volunteers in performing categories. Volunteer participants also select one of their peers to be recognized for excellence in volunteer contribution.
The Jo Harrigan Award (see below) is an award given to a volunteer who has exhibited a lifelong commitment to Music Society. Informal letters of commendation are accepted by anyone for the community who wishes to recommend someone for this award.
Scholarships are available for Youth Honors Choral Program. Once a child has been accepted into a choir, a parent or guardian simply submits a letter describing the financial need and requests either a full or partial scholarship for the annual fees. Scholarships may also be requested for the adult choirs’ annual dues.
JO HARRINGTON AWARD
Nominate a Music Society volunteer who has exhibited long-term
dedication and participation in many aspects and areas to further
the mission and vision of Music Society at the Midland Center
for the Arts. Contact us for a nomination form. More
