Shipwrecks have claimed many lives and vessels on the Great Lakes and this exhibit will highlight some of the well-known losses during the past 100 years with artifacts, photographs, and information pertaining to various shipwrecks. Also included is information about diving and recent shipwreck dives, and about the role of the United States Life Saving Service, the forerunner of today's U.S. Coast Guard.

Hats off for a mad tea time!
The classic adventures of "Alice In Wonderland" will leap off the page at the Mad Hatter Tea Party! Join the Mad Hatter, White Rabbit and friends for a madcap tea party with trading tables, cakes that encourage you to "eat them"’ and Alice-themed treats. Then step outside to join the Queen of Hearts for some Flamingo and Hedgehog croquet on the lawn. Be careful or you just might lose your head over the wild and wondrous things that can happen in Wonderland!
At the Carriage House Hall and grounds.
For elementary-grade ages and up.

archival and multi-purpose facilities in a pleasant campus setting
close to downtown Midland and the Pere Marquette Rail Trail. Located

for the Arts.

Located inside the Hebert D. Doan Midland County History
Center.

Public hours: Tues & Thurs: 1:00-5:00 pm
Trained MCHS staff and volunteers will be available to provide
materials and general research assistance.

Our archival collection includes a wide array of unusual
and interesting primary and secondary material, which is
of value to genealogists (pdf 93k), students, authors and others who
are curious about the history of their home, business or
community.
