WATERWORKS: Soak up the Science
Through April 25, 2010
$9 adults; $6 children; $3 for Museum members
WaterWorks: Soak Up the Science includes fun, interactive learning experiences that let visitors experience the playful, powerful and precious world of H2O. Click here to view the commercial.
WaterWorks responds to the age-old myth of complete water abundance and addresses the need for sustainability for future generations. Visitors will explore the physical properties of water with exhibits on raindrops, rainbows and snowflakes. Learn how water “cycles” from the tap to the treatment process, calculate their own water consumption and pick up conservation strategies from “Walter” the adventurous Water Molecule. WaterWorks is both imaginative and inspiring – allowing visitors to play with water, harness its power, and grasp its importance in our everyday lives – without wasting a drop!
Ticket price includes admission to all Museum exhibits, including “ The Art of Water,” five water-related art exhibitions by contemporary artists, and the interactive Hall of Ideas. All can be viewed during normal Museum hours.
The traveling exhibition, developed and produced by Science North, Canada’s world-renowned science center, is made possible by Dow Corning Foundation as Tour Presenter.
Supporting Sponsor is City of Greater Sudbury, Ontario.
Local sponsors are Dow Corning Corporation, The Dow Chemical Company, Bank of America, American Water Works Association (Michigan Section), The Little Forks Conservancy, Stryker's Lakeside Marina, Brubaker’s Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc.

BLUE is the new GREEN!
Earth is a blue planet with 75% covered in water, but only a very small percentage is available for human consumption. WaterWorks responds to the age-old myth of complete water abundance and addresses the need for sustainability for future generations.
While visiting WaterWorks, be sure to check out our Think Globally/Act Locally Community Corner. You’ll find important information from local conservation organizations with details on how you and your family can personally get involved in water conservation and recreation! Stop and see the exciting ways these agencies are working to protect our water. Information from agencies will be updated throughout the exhibit.
