StarLab

Expand your horizons with "StarLab." Astronomy Educator
Don Martin lends his expertise
to this stellar show that mixes myth and math, taking students on
a voyage to the moon and beyond.

Topics include: constellations, seasonal changes, and Greek Mythology.

This presentation connects to the Michigan Science Curriculum Framework
in the areas of the sun, planets, stars and constellations. Have
StarLab visit your school or venue; in addition, StarLab can be
added to your museum tour for only $50 (subject to availability).

Magic
of Electricity

Explore the world of static electricity with science educator Bruce
Thill. With the aid of the van de Graaff generator, he uncovers
some of the fundamentals of electricity and demonstrates lightning
as well as providing a hair-raising experience. The program can
be tailored to grades K-8.

This program may help you initiate or reinforce classroom discussions
dealing with the following Michigan Curriculum Framework Science
Content Benchmarks, 2000: PMEIV.1.3 (elementary & high school),
PCMIV.2m.3 and m.4 (middle and high school), PMOIV.3.m.3, h.2.

Please note: This program relies on low atmospheric humidity
and therefore is typically only available from September or October
May.

STUFFEE

Meet
"STUFFEE" and learn about whats inside our
bodies, the roles our organs play and how to take care of our bodies
with good nutrition.

Educator Alice Morgan adds a wealth of information to this
program that makes learning about health and nutrition fun. STUFFEE
stands five feet tall and weighs 120 pounds. The body unzips to
expose the colorful fabric heart, lungs, stomach and other organs.
Students can listen to STUFFEEs heartbeat and pulse.

Spectrum Light
Box

Bill Albe presents the enLIGHTening experience as you learn
about the visible color spectrum, find out the identity of Roy G.
Biv, discover what happens to light when certain gasses are present
and as the temperature changes. Watch as the light box reveals the
secrets within light.

This program may help you initiate or reinforce classroom discussions
dealing with the following Michigan Curriculum Framework Science
Content Benchmarks, 2000: ESV.4 h.1, ESV.4m3, PWV-IV.4 h2.

Self-contained kits for teachers available to check out for use
