Grossology: The Impolite Science of the Human Body boyTorso

This exhibition is based on the best-selling children's book Grossology by Sylvia Branzei and explores all the slimy, mushy, oozy, scaly, stinky and gross (yet scientific) things that occur every day in the human body. Kids love the gross stuff and parents like the scientific explanations! The exhibition harnesses natural curiosity about our bodies and promotes learning while having fun through games, activities and interactives.

Kids and adults alike will finally get answers to the questions we're all too embarrassed to ask!

Exhibition Highlights

Become a dust particle and go exploring inside a giant nose. Find out what causes acid indigestion by putting our "Burp Machine" to work. Examine blisters, scabs and more when you climb a large-scale replica of human skin. You'll leave this one-of-a-kind exhibit with a whole new perspective on the world around you and inside you.

Tour du Nose

Enter a giant cartoon nose and explore very realistic nasal features. As you enter and walk to the back of the nose, the nose awakens and lets out a loud "sneeeeze," which triggers a rush of air through the nose!

Burp Man

A larger-than-life cartoon character drinks from a three-foot pop can that you can pump. The stomach pressure increases until the character releases a giant burp, while a second interactive exhibit shows how the sphincter works.

Comments from Director

HEY!

Come get grossed out or else prove you are gross proof with the roughest thick skin. I saw Grossology in Cleveland Ohio. I laughed my butt off. Seriously, kids, this is a blast and it will be the funnest and funniest learning you will ever do. Yes, learning can be fun. And I know from experience, I can challenge any of you to a burping contest.....I can do the alphabet! Can you? When you get a load of the wide range of hilarious education-stations and see how creative the exhibit presents all these crazy subjects, you'll start to get down and dirty into the fun stuff. Watch your Mom go EEEYOOOUWW!!! in that way that only she can do! Wacky coolness. Quacky goo-ness! Really great fun. Come get grossed out! You don't even have to take a bath before you come! You'll fit right in.
